Electro-Mechanical Systems Engineer

About the position

As part of a team of technical experts, you will support the design, development, analysis, test, and certification of a cargo aircraft conversion by Supplemental Type Certificate (STC). Additionally, you will support production deviations, in-service issues, and future design improvement amendments to the STC.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in the design cycle of electro- mechanical subsystems (conceptual development, trade studies, requirements development, design, integration, testing, and problem resolution)
• Prepare or review system architecture definition and requirements definition
• Participate in system design reviews
• Prepare and review 3-D models and engineering drawings with application of GD&T per ASME Y14.5
• Prepare and review system safety documents (SSA, FHA, etc.)
• Prepare and review analysis reports
• Participate in subsystem level testing, including planning, execution, data reduction, and analysis
• Support the development and review of certification documentation
• Participate in creation of support material such as AMM, IPC, Training, and supplements

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering or equivalent
• 8 years or less related experience
• Previous STC and/or cargo aircraft conversion experience preferred
• Proficiency with 3D Computer Aided Drafting/Design (CATIA V5 preferred)
• Ability to check engineering drawings for form, fit, and function
• Knowledge of industry design [ASME] and documentation standards [iSpec2200/D1000D]
• Knowledge of Regulatory FAA Part 25 Requirements and the Airworthiness Process
• Knowledge of EASA CS 25 and other regulatory agencies considered an asset
• Knowledge of OEM Maintenance, Operational, and Repair Manuals
• Preparation of technical reports
